Night Moves In Allentown 50th Anniversary
JACKSON, Mich. — Two music legends are being honored with a double feature tribute show in Jackson later this year.
One set will be dedicated to Bob Seger’s “Night Moves” album, performed in full and in order, followed by a Billy Joel anniversary concert.
Lookin’ Back, described by organizers as Detroit’s first and Michigan’s best Bob Seger tribute band, is set to perform the entire “Night Moves” album.
The performance will feature the group’s frontman, Dave Fogerty, backed by the full Allentown band, a.k.a. “Dave’s Silver Bullet Band”. Along with well-known songs including “Night Moves,” “Mainstreet” and “Rock and Roll Never Forgets,” the set also brings to life several Bob Seger song fans have never heard performed LIVE, like “Ship of Fools” and “Sunburst” from the same album.
After the Seger set, the band will to shift into its Billy Joel tribute to begin the 4th Annual Piano Man Anniversary Concert.
The Billy Joel portion is billed as “The Very Best of Allentown,” with a 90-minute set featuring songs ranging from “Allentown” to “Zanzibar,” “The Ballad of Billy the Kid,” to “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant.”
Bob Seger and Billy Joel are both Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees and Grammy Award winners. The two artists have combined record sales of more than 300,000,000 units, along with nearly 50 movie soundtracks and 50 MTV videos.
The show is being presented by the Michigan Theatre of Jackson, Allentown, Lookin’ Back, 2 of Tributesville’s finest. The Michigan Theatre of Jackson is hosting the November tradition for the second consecutive year.
